Another train experience, experienced -- why are some seats situated two & two, where they face each other? Is that level of intimacy really necessary? Haha. Sat next to some guy and we faced two girls for the 3 hour train ride from Granada to Sevilla. Actually, I dozed off and on, read a bit, took in some of the scenery, gawked out the windows at some of the small towns we stopped at, etc. Time passed pretty quickly, and we were in Sevilla soon enough. And apparently getting your gums pierced is a thing now? WTF with the girl opposite of me, when she asked me to help her get her luggage down from the overhead storage, had a ball piercing IN HER GUMS between her two front teeth?!
Anyway, the hotel was a straight shot of 4 blocks from the train station, and I was checked in and was in my room not long thereafter. The Sevilla hotel had a printout ready for me of all the day's Semana Santa processions, as well as a map identifying all the things I'd want to see.
Got to the room, got situated (changed clothes too -- Sevilla was WARM), and headed out to see some of the city.
It turned out Sevilla was HOT that first day. 100 degrees hot, in fact. Didn't realize it was that hot until I got back to the hotel and looked up with 38 degrees Celsius converted to.
Ended up catching a Semana Santa procession right as I was heading into the center of the city.
Very quickly came to realize that Sevilla is a very different city than Granada. Much bigger, a LOT more people. Still, much to take in and enjoy.
Stopped at one of the many cervecrias in this town and got a few beers and what ended up being basically a flatbread type cheese pizza haha... definitely hit the spot.
Must be my old age catching up with me, but today I was TIRED. Nothing notable for the evening, other than my hotel R&R.
